I think there’s a glimpse of a lesson in the exchanges which have resulted from ‘johnnie’s jamjar’ below . And that is that every medium has its own norms of engagement. The ‘robust’ debate which took place in the comments below feels broadly fine to me, and even refeshing in the context of the blogosphere.

But this would feel out of place in ‘real life’.

I wonder if one root cause of this whole episode is a sort of cross-contamination of engagement styles.

What seems to have happened here, to me, is that the habitual controntational and opinionated style of web blogging leaked into the physical environment, where the ratio of listening to talking should be rather higher!

Anyway, I’m moving on now to think about the other theme of the day. What’s the real marketing opportunity in all of this? Perhaps not what it seems…

By the way, I’m toying with using the little pictures as symbols of my emotional state. A little neurotic perhaps…#;¬}
