Tom Murphy has a really fun graphic on site at present, applying the Gartner hype cycle to the PR industry.

Agree or disagree with his conclusions, it’s a fun concept to play with.

Citizen Journalism isn’t really ‘technology’ in my view so doesn’t warrant inclusion.

I also think blogs are on the downslope towards the trough.

Word of mouth (aka buzz marketing) is just another word for PR itself and shouldn’t be in there at all.

Online press rooms I expect to have a resugence of relevance in Web 2.0 as technologies like RSS enable media to flip the PR value-chain and reassert control over their own editorial agenda.

Finally, where’s ‘lunch’ on this technology chart?
