I continue to ponder the mid-term potential for Google/Orkut and eBay/Skype acquisition.

So I was intrigued to see this assessment of global media content volumes, by james at aqute research:

“The blow-me-away point:

If you put together all the new content created each year on the web, on radio and on television, that is 28 times smaller than the storage needed for telephone conversations. 85 per cent of which is landline, 15 per cent is mobile. In fact, telephone is multiples bigger than all the content created anywhere else in the world in any medium.

If you want to index all the world’s content….”
