Figuring out how to commercialise p2p connectivity and content-exchange models is a really hot area at present.

Online Others is one that Tech Crunch picks out – generating listings of people browsing similar stuff to you and identifying whether they are local to you.

Truth is…everything is about sex these days. Lurker location is a nice idea…kind of like the old desperado model of trying to meet women by hanging round lobster and oysters counter at Waitrose…

If it takes off faster than the thousands of other models out there, then companies could turn it into a highly valued, prospect research tool, hanging out around their own and others’ sites and then quizzing browsers for their purchase intentions and motivations…

At a more sinister level, it’ll be pretty easy to fake your own behavioral ID…authentication and identity management remains a massive hole in all these systems.
